A SUMMARY OF KEY BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP
PetQuip is the UK’s international trade association for the pet product and services sector. Our role is to help British suppliers of pet care products and services to increase business in the UK and internationally. The following are just some of the services we offer our members:
Sales leads
PetQuip receives enquiries direct from international trade buyers which we pass on to our member companies. Sales leads generated from pet product buyers over the last couple of years have been sourced from across the world.
The PetQuip Annual Directory of Products & Suppliers
This multilingual directory of members is distributed to thousands of international trade buyers annually via mail, at overseas trade shows and during market visits, ensuring publicity for members around the world. Member company and product details also feature on the PetQuip website www.petquip.com which also contains links to members’ own websites.
Face to Face and Virtual Meet the International Buyers events
We regularly invite trade buyers to the UK and arrange a day of one-to-one meetings for them with PetQuip members as well as holding separate virtual Meet the International Buyer events. Please contact us for details of the next Meet the International Buyers events.
The PetQuip Awards
The annual PetQuip Awards are open to suppliers, retailers and wholesalers who can nominate themselves or be nominated by others, entry is completely free of charge in any of the categories. Entries usually close at the end of June and are independently judged. The winners are announced at the PetQuip Awards Party which is held on an evening during PATS Telford. PetQuip members can attend the party at discounted rates.
The PetQuip international buyer database
The association’s international buyer database holds 11,000+ company records, detailing information by market on distributors, agents, wholesalers, garden centres, DIY / home centres, mail order / internet sales companies and ‘other’ retailers (i.e. co-ops, supermarkets, country stores etc). Member companies have the opportunity to order records from the database at modest rates.
PetQuip market research library
We hold a wealth of information on the pet product sector worldwide, including international market reports, trade magazines, information on petcare trade events worldwide, exhibition catalogues and much more!
Free advice and signposting by phone, email or via face-to-face consultation
Our team is always available to assist members with advice and business signposting. For those more challenging technical or legal exporting enquiries, beyond the scope of our services, we have set up a free email helpline for members with export training and consultancy company, Strong & Herd LLP.
The PetQuip A-Z Guide to Exporting
This exclusive export guide for members is packed full of the latest exporting updates and changes. The annually updated 100+ page guide is written specifically for our members and is available exclusively to members. It covers areas such as how to find export customers, pricing strategy, payment terms, international standards, patents, packaging, labelling and much more.
UK exhibitor groups and industry information stands at key international trade shows
PetQuip organises the British exhibitor groups at international trade shows including Interzoo, Zoomark, Global Pet Expo and Superzoo. Our expert exhibition team simplifies the whole process of organising your stand and participation and delivers a comprehensive package of organisational support, pre-show promotion to international buyers, expert help and advice in the run up to and at the event, plus valuable follow-up sales leads.

This digital e-news magazine includes information, details of events and opportunities for UK exporters.
International press coverage
The Federation promotes the UK pet product sector and its members’ products internationally in press releases targeted at the trade press and promotes members’ products at trade shows where PetQuip has organised British exhibitor groups.

This e-bulletin is issued every two months and will keep you up-to-date with developments in the garden and pet sectors worldwide.

Intellectual Property Protection Service
Designed by chartered patent attorneys Murgitroyd specifically to meet the needs of our membership. This service offers members a 30-45 minutes free Intellectual Property (IP) advice per issue and a 20% discount on their fees for preparing and filing design and trade mark applications at the UK IP Office (with the exception of official fees).
Discount on selected Mintel market reports
Mintel is a leading international market intelligence agency; members can benefit from a 25% discount on their 2023 US garden and pet market reports.
